Our students love the freedom, flexibility and support we offer. See what they're saying about Sophia's courses.

Struggled alot towards the end of the course. Along with teaching concepts, you need a way to actually walk the student through the problems their doing.
Sophia replied on February 23, 2017

Justin - congratulations on your successful course completion! We agree that often students need more than just the teaching of concepts. That's why we supplement the instruction with our team of Learning Coaches. Students in Introduction to Statistics also have access to 24x7 "on demand" tutoring via the "Access a Tutor" button in the course. Both of these resources are designed to help ensure students understand the concepts and how to approach the questions/problems.

More problems with answers would be beneficial to solidify the concepts
by Krystle T. on February 5, 2017
I love SOPHIA! They are so understanding, patient and care for their students. They give you all the tools and support to help you understand each concept. I have dreaded to take Statistics all year and I am so thankful to have found Sophia.org, it was fun to learn! Thanks Sophia!

I learned a lot in this course, and am glad I took it, but Unit 6 was a big jump in difficulty compared with prior units, which was kind of imbalanced. It would have been helpful to have more conceptual teaching in unit six before getting into the problems. I loved the tutors! They taught so well!
by LaTeasha P. on January 25, 2017
I enjoyed the course overall, but I think it would have been more conducive to my learning if the challenge questions went in some type of sequence with the tutorials or if you arrange the program so the tutorials relating to the topic had to be completed first before the challenge questions. Particularly for some of the more difficult material it seems to be presented all over the place and it made it difficult to make connections that resulted in a more cohesive comprehension. Also I could not complete many calculations due to lack of calculator function knowledge and not having the correct calculator for some of the problems as well. So a tutorial about calculators, a supply list for the course to indicate what type is required, or also providing a hand taught method of completing the calculations would make a huge difference. Thanks!

perfect!

Great course and enjoy the options to choose different Professors, however, I would have appreciated transcripts for all of the videos.
by Jacob M. on January 11, 2017
some questions are asking something, and multiple answers could be right. I did not like how that was set up, but it allowed me to succeed in the course
Sophia replied on January 12, 2017

Hi Jacob -- You likely noticed that each question comes with a "Submit Feedback" link. Students can use that link to request a review or challenge a wrong answer. Those submissions are promptly reviewed and addressed by our staff. Congratulations on your achievement, and we hope to see you again.
